Ouaga is a young Belgian organisation which was previously operating under the “ArtsenZonderVakantie/MédecinsSansVacances” banner but is now fully self-sufficient.
They are welcoming young health professionals motivated to put their knowledge and skills to the task of health-care provision and capacity building on their yearly humanitarian mission to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The goal of Ouaga is to contribute to the enhancement of orthopaedic care in the developing world. The base of their work is an intense cooperation with local colleagues as training local caregivers.
The focus of this mission is hip-surgery on a yearly mission to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Your work as a residents in a surgical subdiscipline consists mainly of assisting hip surgery. Training is given to the local team whenever possible.
Anaesthesiologists will help the local team with spinal procedures. Besides the surgical procedures, attention is given to pre- and post-operative care.
After the medical activities there is always a possibility to socialize with the local team.

We willen we ook de nieuwe schitterende organisatie “Residents Abroad” vermelden die wenst samen te werken met VZW Ouaga. Zij beogen jonge assistenten in opleiding te laten deelnemen aan humanitaire missies.
Persoonlijk vind ik de uitwerking erg geslaagd en aantrekkelijk. Wij kunnen ons zeker terugvinden in verdere samenwerking !
